Contec Floor Joist are prestressed like concrete bridges for strength. Available in 30 stock lengths from 4-20ft in 6 inch increments. Contec is a lightweight floor that does not require propping of spans under 12ft. Versatile and strong the Contec Floor Joist works with reinforced concrete or steel structures as well as load bearing block or concrete shear walls. Unlike Spancast Planks which require cranes for installation one of the tremendous advantages of Contec is its lightweight components which can be easily handled by the work force on a construction site.
This is a significant benefit since all the advantages of prestressed floors are available for use on even those sites with limited access especially for cranes and other heavy equipment.
